The times where a pug healer has told me: "Good tanking buddy!", usually it is accompanied by a: "I hardly even had to heal you!", not the other way around.

Anyone playing retail right now knows that listing a key results in getting 50 dps applications for every 1 tank or healer. Making tanks or healers even less fun does not seem like the way to go.

In lower brackets btw, less competent tanks already require pretty severe healer babysitting. Why make a change because somewhere in the high reaches of perfect execution you can sometimes forego using a healer altogether? Are they stupid? I got 3k rating on 2 separate healers and I've been in PLENTY of runs where tanks don't have a shot at staying alive without my constant intervention. On top of that it's so rare to do runs where DPS actually use their offhealing/defensives correctly. Without tanks or DPS playing perfectly good luck playing healerless as it stands, anyway.

This is just going to cause shit tanks to not even have a chance and burn out more healers and tanks.

After doing testing yesterday, I can confirm that kiting is back. With an organized party of friends and playing VDH with my friend on his main healer, our most comfortable specs, multi-3k seasons in these roles, I still had to kite mobs.

The tuning is all off. In a +5 mists my demon spikes dropped for 3 seconds and I literally went from 100% to 0% health in less than two seconds. The death recap from a pack of 4 mobs had 6 hits of 1 million+. What am I supposed to do? This wasnโ€™t a โ€œtank busterโ€ and Iโ€™m encouraged to hold my meta for those, but the second my only active mitigation ended I got nuked. Thereโ€™s no in-between.

This first season is going to be a carnival of hotfixes and complaints. I canโ€™t imagine pugging with these changes.

The way I read the DK changes was that Death Strike would heal instances of damage once. Not that it would only heal one instance of damage.

So when you take a tank buster, currently you can use Death Strike multiple times in the five seconds after the tank buster and get healing multiple times from that hit. They want to make it heal from that tank buster once.

I don't like the change, but I don't think it's as bad as only healing the last single instance of damage.

Kitch did a long write up about all the problems Bear currently has in the beta feedback thread. These nerfs coming after bearely any changes between DF S2 and Beta just feels really bad.

So I feel some context is in order here. Iโ€™ve watched all the way through many of these โ€œtank nerfโ€ videos. The similar thread that ties these all together is the content that is being talked about. Every video references โ€œhighโ€ keys and meta set ups. These changes have been FORCED onto us tanks because of meta groups, because of MDI teams running 4 dps and a tank because of people who are running +18 and above on a regular basis. If you donโ€™t think Blizzard sees this through data strings youโ€™re fooling yourself. I donโ€™t blame them or anything, but the facts are as clear as could be. Players in +10 and AOTC range again pay the price for the 5% club. I respect those who push, it every choice comes with consequences. And we are paying for there choices.

As a healer main I say that if kitting for tanks is not fun... DPSing for healers is even less fun

We already had the kiting problem back in Shadowlands. Blizzard realized it sucked to have to kite everything and made changes to fix it, I hope we aren't repeating history.

I think you are misinterpreting or mistating the change to death strike. It still looks back 5s it just will delete from memory any damage that was already healed back by deathstrike

As a healer main at heart I personally don't mind tanks getting hit harder requiring more healing from the healer as it should remove the requirement to push DPS. As a healer I want to heal and not DPS. What I want to see removed are the mobs and abilities where 1 or 2 missed kicks wipe the entire group in a 1 shot (Expulse from the mobs in Halls of Infusion as an example). As a healer I feel helpless in those situations and really has been discouraging in dungeons in Dragonflight which made me switch to tanking this expansion. I would rather those types of abilities be changed to a channel with slowly increasing damage over time until kicked or killed. As a healer I can throw the team on my back "Save" them. With this past expansion I had to play a tank to get this same enjoyment.

I wouldn't mind getting the healer - tank relationship back, but for this they have to nerf random dungeon abilities but a lot. So that DPS don't get trucked all the time. Way to many oneshots.

But honestly I am still waiting for guardian druid change, since Legion beta (~9 years) almost no change, and hero trees are not good enough.

The bdk changes hurt so muchโ€ฆ this looks like they just change us to have to rely on healers. If thatโ€™s actually the case this spec is completely fried :(

Idk man. I don't see lower keys not needing healers now. The highest I got is 12 as a resto shaman and it's rare for me to not have to heal my ass off. I mean really rare. It's already a bitch to heal most DPS because they stand in stupid, don't interrupt, or they don't even use their own cool downs and then their are the tanks to heal. This change sounds like the average healers nightmare.
