Adam blamed his wife for her sin. Jesus takes the sins of his bride away and bears them himself. What a beautiful parallel to bring out Lecrae!

This truly describes what i seek to be as a man. The idea that Jesus, by dying on the cross, showed us true manhood in the sense that He was dying for His bride, the church, really is amazing and something I had never thought about.

Therein lies the question - what does it mean to provide? what it is that a man should provide? If a man works and pays the bills, but doesn't spend time with his wife and kids, is he a good provider? Some say yes. If a man loses or gives up his job yet becomes an excellent stay-at-home father and husband, is he a poor provider? Others say yes. I think we can agree God has the final say on the definition, but sadly we disagree on how God defines manhood and what a good provider is.

Great thoughts! I do however wonder, is this not about "humanhood" and not manhood? If this is manhood, it implies that womanhood is something different. Responsibility, selflessness and sacrifice is not only or primarily a manly thing to do, I think. This is for all. What do you folks think about that?

I understand where you are coming from, however I just wanted to clarify, Lecrae did not say ALL he said ANY mammal in a sarcastic way comparing animals to men (mammals) who think that all it takes to be a "man" is provide for your family. He would also agree with you since he grew up without a father as well. Blessings!

If Jesus represents masculinity, then what about the women? According to Lecrae, women would be acting manly if they were to do as Jesus did. Jesus represents the perfect human, not just man. OK, I get your point. Men should try to act like Jesus. But that doesn't make Jesus a symbol of biblical manhood.
