2022 Elite Terrain compound bow review

Показать описание
New for 2022 the Elite Terrain is a 32.5" Axle to Axle bow with a 7" Brace Height, Mass Weight of 3.9#, Draw Length 25.5-31.5", IBO 325fps

We look at the New Terrian we shoot over a Chronograph and then shoot at 18meters to see how we find the new bow.

I waited 13 minutes for the mandatory poodle bark!! wouldn't be a true review without it!

It's a mid-range bow. This is one of the bows I'm actually debating on purchasing as a first bow. I don't want a budget bow package and I don't want to go top of the line...yet.

This bow actually hits its IBO speed, and is tune-able through the yokes. The main appeal is the light weight so that when it’s dressed out it won’t feel like an anvil. It’s like a Hoyt without all the weight. The 15# draw weight adjustment is also nice.

Great honest review. Building one now.

Maybe this finds it's place as the budget top of the line bow?

So for about 150AUD more than the Basin and 600AUD less than the Envision you can get this bow that looks good, seems like it has a nice smooth draw cycle, shoots about as accurate as you did in the Envision review, and from what I can see shoots as fast or maybe even faster than the speed test you did in your Envision review? This seems like pretty good bang for buck versus the other two Elite bows you are comparing it to. I agree the Envision is better but this looks like a great choice if you simply can't afford the step up in price. After watching this review I really want to give this bow a try along with the Envision and Remedy to see how noticeable the difference is.

In my opinion, I think you are wrong about it not selling well. That one is $500+ usd, and the top of the line Elite is $1600???? That $1000 more. Not many have that kind of money to spend. Most archers j see are buying good used bows due to the enormous price of a top level new bow. I can take that Elite, or the mid priced Bowtech I saw you review and pick X’s with it as well as a $2000 bow. They are all built well enough to do that. I am glad some folks have huge money like that so spend. In reality, most of us do not, so good mid priced bows are just fine for anything from hunting to punching X’s.

How does this compare to the PSE Drive NXT?

I think it's worth the money given how well it shoots. Would appeal to the hunters out there and those seeking a quick bow. it's better than the bowtech convergence which would be a competitor

What's super interesting is the physical weight. The Envision seems great except that its heavy for such a short ata. If Elite made that weight of a bow with top end cams etc I'd go for it.

Podrías hacer una comparativa entre el terrain y el drive nxt? Sería muy interesante.

Hey Steve,
Love your reviews and personally.
Why not use a Chrono when doing reviews?
Might as well if your shooting anyway.. 🤷‍♂️
Hope your well,
Cheers Mate

I'm late to the party but the Terrain caught my attention due to it's light weight. I totally agree with Adrian R. Put the top in cams on this light riser and you got a lot of sales I would imagine. Also it is rare for a bow to hit it rated IBO speed. Maybe it would catch more attention had it been rated at a 330 and be overrated like almost every other bow?

The problem I see with the price point is the fact that it's very easy to get a brand new top of the line bow from the previous year or two for around the same price. Then you get more features and you don't have to pay that extra $600. My wife's bow I got brand new for $700. It's a 2019 Elite Ritual that I bought late 2020. And I'll tell you, I'll take that bow any day over the Terrain. Now, when the terrain also drops in price when a few stay on the shelf, then it's worth looking at. Until then it's being beaten by its own brands other offerings basically.

Another awesome video. Love the depth to your knowledge and the little gems of industry history you have.

are you sure thats a 60lb bow. All the other IBO style test out there @ 70Lb/30inch/350 grain are 322 fps. Just struggling to see how 10lb lighter draw weight and only 23 grain lighter arrow can be as quick. Its hard to find actual 60Lb chrono numbers but not sure if I can trust these.

cry for help .I have managed to de cable my compound bow and for the life of me and others at the club we cant work out the set up ( its a hoyt 38 ultra with tx 1000 limbs and hoyt manuals are useless ) being new to this I am at a loss and in the UK there are few shops to go to . Do you know or have any followers that have the same bow and can help ?? with pics etc .I will be upgrading at some point but as i have a disability cost is an issue .Cry for help from the UK

Personally I prefer a really really smooth and easy draw from the start to the back wall. Smoothest bow ever is Elite Synergy IMO. NO decent speed to speak of but a great target/3-d bow. The 33" Ritual is my current bow for hunting because of the smooth and easy cycle with no " bump?" at the back wall. With a little tweaking I'm getting 279 fps @ 271/2". 58#'s and a 407 grain hunting arrow. Gues I will keep this as left hand bows in this review aren't even being made. Not enough market? Hard to believe there like only millions of right eye dominate people and a few hundred left eye dominate people. Thinking there are thousands of shooters not using their dominate eye.

How does this compare to other bows in its price range? Is it the best lower cost bow?
