Cuban here, you do a pretty good job! For me, personally, I like to add 2 heaping spoonfuls of sugar (there's no such thing as too much sugar to Cubans) and don't use as much of the espresso for the espumita. It results in a fluffier, lighter and better espuma! Good job, especially on picking Bustelo 😊

Just got a mocha pot yesterday and picked up Cafe bustello because it’s finely ground. Didn’t know if it was the right purchase. Glad to see I picked the right stuff! Can’t wait to brew

Cuban here: Nice job overall! I think the espumita is a little on the thinner side so either use slightly less coffee or use more sugar. Considering you said it was sweet and only tasted sugar at the end, try slightly less coffee first. The process was overall great though and it’s just a matter of tinkering with that sugar/coffee ratio to make the espumita perfect (which honestly just takes practice and experience…I did much worse making the espumita my first few attempts so you’re already almost there)

Well done 👍 That’s a true Cuban Coffee! Now heat up some milk, add the coffee and make a Cafe con Leche and pair it with a Cuban Tostada. It’s heaven. You’re welcome.

As a Cuban, I must say that was really good but one tablespoon of sugar is enough. Of course, this is completely up to personal taste.
Here we say that real Cuban coffee is
C for Caliente (hot)
A for Amargo (bitter)
F for Fuerte (strong)
E for Exquisito (exquisite)
So maybe it was a little too much sugar😅 😅
