In celebration of Charles' extraordinary life, Daptone imprint Dunham Records have released his fourth and final album featuring ten studio recordings never before included on any album.

Black Velvet is a celebration of Charles Bradley, lovingly assembled by his friends and family at Dunham/Daptone Records. Though chronologically the material spans Charles' entire career, this is no anthology, greatest hits or other shallow rehashings of the songs that already made him famous. Rather, this album is a profound exploration through the less-traveled corners of the soulful universe that Charles and his longtime producer, co-writer and friend Tommy "TNT" Brenneck created in the studio together over their decade-long partnership.

Mayans MC brought me here! I am a huge Nirvana fan but this is one of the best covers i've ever heard. He really transformed it into something so groovy and cool.

Once a year I hear a song I love. This is the one for 2022. This song works for any era, and any age listener. Would have been a hit in the 1950's, 60's, 70's or today - any era. Perfection.

Listened to this on Spotify and loved the sound. I had listened to the nirvana song so many times and didn't make the connection this was even an interpretation of it until months later., Genius

This is how to do a cover version! First time I heard this was a suggestion on Spotify and I thought it was a 70s track and didn't even clock the lyrics!! Took me a few listens and a bit of Googling to realise and I'm a big Nirvana fan :)

1st heard this absolute masterpiece sitting on a balcony in Italy and was wondering where my life was going and was i gonna return to Scotland and keep being a super gremlin...this tune helps keep me grounded.
