I found Tyler’s music through my son. He listened to him nonstop when we were in the car together. I asked him who is this singing ? He is good. My son was an addict. He passed away August 30th 2022, my birthday from fentanyl poisoning. I now listen to him often and think of my son. He is forever 28.

I remember the night I found Tyler, I was hammered, looking for something to fall asleep to, I stayed up for hours.

I hate myself for not finding him sooner. I listen to him every day.

For context Utah Phillips wrote this song on his way home from Vietnam. He only ever played it once for an audience of one. He mentioned it was unfair to play it again because the woman in the song was very much alive and the song came from a place of anger. Tyler dose a fantastic performance of bringing this song to life.

This man is doing more for modern country music than anyone I’ve heard lately, I’d like to thank Sturgil for bringing him to my life

Not commenting for sympathy... I almost took my life one night....and I remembered I had heard this man. I turned on his mix here and just sat and I'm still here....

Just came from a Jinks video where comments had listed several artists who are "legit". I have liked them all so far, however this guy is different! He is the only one I can't pin down, the others all sound like a blend of a few greats (some almost to the point of mimicry). This dude certainly sounds like the greats, however the "great" artist he sounds like is Tyler Childers. This cat is indeed legit!

The red barn list of Tyler I play on repeat. Singing my heart out, and bugging my daughter haha someday she'll remember it. And she'll be happy

For a man to sit on a stool on a stage in front of an audience with nothing more than an acoustic guitar and a microphone and play and sing takes more guts than most can imagine.

This guy is fuckin incredible, if he doesn't speak for the everyday simple man I don't know who does. This song and Hard Times and Grindstone hit home man. Awesome stuff and messages in his music

By the banks of the river
Where the willows hang down
The wild birds they warble
With a low morning sound
Way down in the hollow
Where the river runs cold
It was there I first listened
To the lies that you told
Now I lie on my back
And I see your sweet face
A past I remember
Time can't erase
And letters you wrote me
They were written in shame
And know that your conscience still echoes my name
Now if the ladies were black birds
If the ladies were thrushes
Well I'd lie there for hours
In the chilly cold marshes
And if the women were squirrels
With them high bushy tails
Well I'd load up my shotgun
With rock salt and nails
I'd load up my shotgun
