Steel in Fire: Worked Example - Beam Design

preview_player
Показать описание
This video presents a worked example where a structural steel beam carrying loads is subjected to fire and the capacity is calculated. Calculations are based upon Canadian Code CSA S16 (the updated version of the code which SANS 10162-1 is based upon). Effective lengths and reduced material properties are considered.

Hello, thanks for your video !
I have some questions regarding this exemple.
1) The young modolus is calculated but not used in your design, why?
2) The dilatation of material is not taken into account, isn't it?
3) Can this design method be applied in the case of a real fire or performance based fire?
Many Thanks.
