The 109’s sound almost to the T exactly like Audeze LCDX 2021 the tuning is so similar!

HAVING BOTH its almost crazy just how much they sound the same.

With the audeze being just more refined and the low end just being much cleaner at higher volumes +the accuracy of theLCDX sound stage is second to none which is why I’ve been mixing on them for 5 years,

I bought Meze’s as a mixing back up to LCDX’S when I have to send them in for maintenance.

And going a full month only with the 109’s my mixes come and translate damn near exactly as they do on my LCDX
it’s honestly a steal of a headphone for the price!

If you like the LCDX you will love the 109’s

Great review! I purchased a pair some time ago, and they were a touch more expensive back then.

These headphones are a well-crafted, versatile option with a warm sound signature that feels enveloping, like a cozy embrace. While I personally prefer the HD 800S for their soundstage, these are an excellent choice for anyone seeking high-quality headphones within this price range.

Regarding clamping force, they initially feel quite firm and may require some break-in time to loosen up. More so than other headphones I've used.
For those sensitive around the ears, extended wear beyond 1-2 hours might feel slightly uncomfortable, but shorter sessions should be perfectly enjoyable.

A few months back I purchased the 105’s based on your review and am very happy I did. It would be great to listen to the 109 pro for a comparison but I feel I can live with the 105aer for a long time. Running them through a Ifi zen signature 6XX amp and a zen signature+ dac. I also send the dac signal to a Xduo 66ta tube amplifier which is extremely smooth, but not as detailed as the zen amplifier. I wish I could have gone to the Axpona show this weekend to check out a bunch of different models but could not find a ride.

Why aren’t hp manufacturers not including a balanced cable (4.4 mm or 4-pin XLR) with their headphones? We don’t need two 3.5 mm SE cables of different lengths…I get so miffed when a manufacturer doesn’t include a balanced cable with their headphones…They’re better off giving their customers a cable choice/option when you purchase their headphones…Some hp companies need a whole new marketing makeover. Yes, we know headphones aren’t balanced by their design, but the upstream gear (DACs, preamps, Amps, etc) are, and typically, their balanced circuitry design has better technical specs (higher fidelity) than their SE circuitry. Not offering a balanced cable with a med-upper tier headphone is truly restricting the headphone’s sonic capabilities.

I was almost clicking the purchase button on these after listening to them at Headphone Connect Kochi earlier this year, but thanks to some last minute reading online, and I purchased the Sony MDR MV1 headphones at a great discount at the Sony official store.

They are probably the most underrated headphones on the planet at the moment in my humble opinion, and in spite of being marketed for professional use and having single-ended connection only, sound absolutely awesome, and even better than my $599 Beyerdynamic Amiron Home (more spacious, more dynamic, and natural timbre on par if not better than the Amiron).

I would request that you give these a shot at reviewing if possible.

Excellent review! I’d be really curious to know how the 109 pro compares to the HFM Arya stealth and the Sennheiser HD800S. With the Arya stealth now selling for US$599, they are great value albeit not the best build brand of headphones.

The workmanship of this headphone it is second to none not like German crappy cars but well-designed I will take the Chinese cars cheaper and lasts longer but speaking of 109 fantastic😊

Very interesting review. Thanks a lot. Would have liked a word about the cable quality and the possibility to replace it by one from another brand. Heard that connectors were very specific and not all the 3, 5mm RCA connectors can suit the headphone
Also, do you think it is OK with OTL tube amp (Xduoo, little dot, feliks audio ...) or impedance is too low ?
