It's heartbreaking that Layne wasn't able to overcome his crippling addiction and died the way he did. Layne Thomas Staley you and that great voice will always be missed. RIP! Thank you for the music!

Hard to believe that one of the most refreshing, creative, innovative and popular bands of the past 30 years had not 1 but 2 members die from drug OD's. I never knew or met Staley but I think of him fairly often. Horrible loss to music lovers.
