Kim was beautiful, shame on everyone that made her feel like she wasn't pretty enough or good enough. She would've aged BEAUTIFULLY without any surgery

Her own father called her ugly. NEVER call your child or anyone else's ugly.

(The irony is that she was always so beautiful!)

I was told by my uncle because I was skinny and had mild acne no man would want me. Now im married with 4 kids and home we built from the ground up... NEVER let anyone steal your self-esteem to the point you destroy yourself.

I feel sad for Lil Kim, she should have changed the types of guys she was dating before changing herself.

It’s stunning how often a child’s first bully is their own parent.

All these beautiful black artists need to leave their nose alone. 😭

Lil Kim had faced some trauma in her early life stemming from her dad and abusive relationships with men. She had her nose broken several times during an abusive relationship with one of her boyfriends and I think that may have started her on the path of changing the way she looked drastically. And there wasn't anything wrong with the way she looked outwardly, but inside was the issue. She needed to fix her broken ness from the inside.

Your demeanor is so chill… you’re like a bonsai tree in human form

"Good nasal definition, it respects her ethnic features." Best line in the entire video. ❤

Her transformation, in my mind, is as tragic as Michael Jackson's was.

She was beautiful. It is so sad no one was there to stop her, to speak
positivity into her life.

Thank you for being respectful through the video on Lil Kim and trying to explain things. She is a beautiful person inside and out. Extremely loyal and iconic. Her Being only 4”11 and holding her ground in an industry dominated by men, she kicked open doors for many ladies. I hope this video will allow people to see other angles without jumping to judgment on such an amazing person who deserves more than the insults thrown at her. You did a great job on this video!

Thanks Dr. Gary for recognizing the beauty in those of Afro descent. Far too often we hear Cosmetic surgeons degrade African features by saying they are abnormally bulbous, thick, or wide, when they are quite normal in certain ethnic groups. Nothing wrong with a little rhinoplasty, but not due to societal pressure to look less black.

1:37 I love this description of her facial features. You added such specific anatomical descriptions to facial features that we lay people unconsciously and automatically identify as general attractiveness. We see these anatomical features and like them, but it was nice to know what we were looking at and how in total we composite them to see beauty. Also, I liked how you recognized her features "respect her ethnic features." That is so important.

This puts me to tears. As a kid I wanted to be her. She literally was one of the most beautiful woman to me when I was like 7-10 years old. Why didn’t she see that. 🥺💔

The pressure to fit the European aesthetic is very high in the entertainment industry and in general for women of color especially those of West African Ancestry. Great video.

Thank you for going into the psychological aspect of "why" these celebrities end up destroying their faces so horribly with surgery. Lil Kim was dealt with some tragic cards in her life. It truly saddens me how such a statuesque bombshell like her was always made to feel ugly by the people in her life. Just goes to show you what kind of damage words can sometimes do to you.

From 1995-2005, Lil Kim was absolutely drop dead gorgeous.
