I don’t understand why you wouldn’t think the Nats wouldn’t want a veteran pitcher. They kinda need that veteran leadership in there clubhouse. Also a lot of their pitchers are injured. Also, their best prospect pitchers are at least two years out. I think it makes sense for the Nats.

Flaherty has been pretty vocal that his top 2 destinations are the Dodgers and the Tigers. I think that both of those teams have to give him laughably bad offers for him to sign somewhere else
