Angela Boatwright is an accomplished photographer and filmmaker based out of Los Angeles.

She sat down with us recently and answered our questions about her personal passions and the details of her Vans #livingoffthewall project, East Los.

This reminds me of my hardcore scene in the mid 90's. Kids putting on shows in VFW halls, skate parks, literally anywhere they could. These kids are doing it the same way. This series is great!

what part of it is "selling out"?i grew up in the East L.A. backyard scene in the early 80's. started going to some shows in the last two years. La Puente, Covina, South Central, and City Terrace. these kids are not posers.it's all D.I.Y..reminds me of the old days, the kid's are doing it.
