The best way to paint a garden fence is using the Wagner fence and decking sprayer. Wagner states you can paint a 6ft fence panel in under 2 minutes, but is it possible? Check out my full review of the Wagner fence and decking sprayer.

I bought one of these last year and like others I diluted it with about 10% water. Soon got the knack and got the fence painted in a fraction of the time.
New to your channel @FixitwithFowler and enjoying and learning from you, thank you.

Thank you for posting this detailed review. I've just bought one (W690) and have yet to use it. I did see a tip on another video relating to filling the pot - the chap used a small kitchen ladle to avoid spillage which worked well. Best wishes.

I bought one of these after watching your video and having over 20 linear metres of fence to paint. Used Cuprinol Ducksback with 10% water added. Absolutely superb! Significantly quicker than a brush (though I did follow up with a brush for the occasional run) with better coverage. Really impressed!

Hi love. I recently bought one of these paint sprayers. Great bit of kit. I do dilute the paint slightly and have bought a cheap plastic jam funnel for less messy filling. 👍

My mums next door neighbours sprayed their fence. And in the process painted my mums patio, patio furniture and patio doors that thankfully were closed.
How they did not realise they were spraying over the top while spraying the top of the fence I can not comprehend

Had mine a couple of years and never looked back. Definitely needs watering down 10% and a must is to protect any patio paving under the fence as much as possible, as the pressure of the sprayer can easily blow back under loosely placed cardboard laid down

I have purchased this sprayer. I tried and could not get it going. I washed it all and put it away. I am going to have another go and will water down my paint 4 to 1 - fingers crossed I can get it going as I have 13 panels down each side and 4 panels at the bottom. Going by what I have just seen on this video I am confident. Firstly, I have to go get some protective gear. * I'll be back with a review, a positive one hopefully. Nancy T.

Sprayers are a great bit of kit, but diluting is essential. They are also very heavy on paint compared to using a brush. When painting around concrete posts, I made up a "timber sleeve/cover" from scrap timber that slotted over the concrete posts, which worked surprisingly well and was easy to move onto the next post. I used a bit of cardboard that was cut to the width of the timber panels to mask the concrete kickboard.
As for filling the reservoir from a big bucket, I transferred it to a smaller bucket, but it was still messy if you're not very careful. They are a pain to clean when you are done.

Nice video I got the Wagner W100 really good piece of kit, I would recommend watering down the paint though delivers it better 👍

Got the same one last year. It really struggled. Spurting out and then nothing. Ended up using the brush. Discovered later it's a good idea to use thinners. It'll spray a lot easier and the thinners will evaporate.

I have one bought it last year, had to mess around with the trigger adjustment, use it with creosote neat works well saves time!😉

I don't have fences, i have walls. That sprying looks really satifying though. Great vid.

Get a cheap measuring jug for filling, dip and pour into pot, and wash with sprayer. Good vids dude.

Did you thin down the Cuprinol ducksback as it looked very thick, and I think you need a ladle to fill the pot as thats seems the easiest way.

I brought one of these sprayers, I didn't water down the paint but I used almost 5 litres to do a 6 by 4 panel fence, I had everything turned down to slow the flow rate, is there any help as it will cost a fortune to finish my panels I may go back to the brush for the time being

Is furniture clinic water based stain compatible with the sprayer?

Spraying always looks easy, but does the coating get worked into the grain like a brush does?
