What about salt water? Most flooding and water damage is caused by fresh water. StormBags can barricade against salt water after first being hydrated in fresh water.

What about disposal? They'll dehydrate after 2-3 weeks in the sun and then can be reused several times. The contents are non-toxic and plant/landfill friendly. Used bags can be left around trees to keep them hydrated in drought conditions.

What about density? These should be stacked higher than the anticipated water level, much like traditional sandbags.

What’s crazy is the fact you kept talking during the 3-5 minute time lapse.

I went to college with this guy, truly a sweet dude with a big heart of gold. What a surprise to have this video recommended to me. Whatever he is selling I will buy it.

For anyone wondering how it works, it's the powder used in diapers put into a sand bag.

For everyone complaining about the density issue. This bag likely contains lithium chloride to speed up the water absorbing process which is denser than water. It is also a likely reason why they say these bags do not work in salt water. Lithium chloride is a salt therefore can't not absorb another salt.

It’s not about the sand. It about the transportation of sand bags to the affected area

For those that don't know... It also dehydrates in the absence of water... So useful in wet conditions but not great for flash floods and such. You can put them in waterproof bags so they can't lose water but otherwise they'll shrivel down to the original bag size eventually.

Water absorbing crystals have so many amazing uses. This is a great new use. Thanks for showing us.

As someone who has blister scars from filling and tying sandbags once upon a time, I think this is pretty awesome.

All I needed was that that first sentence to scroll away. I mean this in the nicest way as a customer. Better marketing will help your business a lot your product is really cool you just have to really sell it grab peoples attention. Have wow demos lol like the oxy clean man we all loved 😂 You got this!

Chemist here. It's true that if it only contains water it would have the same density as water, and thus won't work. However, it seem like that's not the case. I would assume there's some kind of polymer inside that absorbs water several hundred times its weight creating a gel that's more dense than water.

Would be great to keep on hand for basements, I believe it’s filled with the same absorbent material as diapers, I’ve seen round options at grocery stores, usually around refrigeration units where deli cheese and sandwich meats, etc are stored. It definitely has its uses.

We have flooding in our area around the grocery store we own. This is actually pretty neat. I might look into it more!

I remember being up in Crane Lake, MN bout three years ago, having to haul sandbags back and forth to help my dad's buddy save the lodge. These would've been absolutely lifesaving...

I'm sure it has its uses. But it is very niche and difficult for many reasons.

1. Useless in floods
2. Leak water
3. Will evaporate in dry/hot weather.

I've seen this on shark tank. Love it🙌

Seen a lot of people saying that the issue is that unlike sand these aren't more dense than water and would just float away. So my thought is, why not make the stormbags out of like 20% sand and the rest to pick up water. So you'd have small and light sandbags that you can fill up with water instead of just the heavy sandbags or just the waterbags that aren't denser than water.

So in order to deploy them you need to get people to stand in a flood and hold down a bag each for 3-5 minutes I don’t see this working somehow
