Lawrence Baron: Teaching the Holocaust Through Film to Children, Tweens, and Teenagers

Показать описание
Until his (very active) retirement, Lawrence Baron was for many years Professor of Jewish History at San Diego State University. His numerous publications reflect wide-ranging expertise on matters relating to Jewish History and to the Holocaust, but he is perhaps best known for his extensive writings on the Holocaust in film, and especially for his groundbreaking book, Projecting the Holocaust into the Present: The Changing Focus of Contemporary Holocaust Cinema. In his May 3 talk, Professor Baron will discuss, and illustrate with film clips, Holocaust movies that are intended for children. This event may be of particular interest to k-12 teachers, to university students who intend to teach, and to parents of k-12 children.
