Hiking Cascade Mountain in the Adirondack Mountains

For our very first hike in the High Peaks of the Adirondacks in Upstate New York, we chose to hike up Cascade Mountain. This mountain is one of the Adirondack 46ers, which is a group of 46 mountains in the Adirondacks that have an elevation of/or higher than 4,000 feet.

I'm Lincoln Riddle, the hidden gems travel guy. Why is this hike a hidden gem? Listen, the Adirondacks are a wonderful place. I consider the whole area to be a hidden gem. All of it. The hiking, the skiing, the unique sites you can see...it's really just amazing. I love it here.

Got a hidden travel gem? Let me know in the comments!

OMGosh, Lincoln! I've just reached the thunderclap. This trip feels like it should have had comedy music so far as so many things have gone wrong! 😂

That was a tough one, the weather didn't cooperate, if you brought a rain jacket, it wouldn't have rained lol . The cameras take a beating out there. Congratulations on your first 46er.

Eeeep the camera lens!! That final stretch looked extra tricky with the wet stone. That view from the top though looked amazing! Well done :)

I thought you found a snake when you shouted! Turns out just dropped an expensive lens! 🤣 I love the smell of pines! That probably would have been my favorite part of the hike!

When hiking on a ninety-degree day, a single water-bottle, and scorching sun, with dying trees providing little comfort, I beg for rain. Certainly keeps trail usage to a minimum.

Oh no! Ughh really sucks that you dropped the lens. We lost a phone like that hiking in Puerto Rico...except it dropped in a river and sat there for 10 minutes before we realized. Hopefully the lens can be repaired. The hike looks so peaceful, even with the rain. The views at the top are just stunning, nothing like doing a long hike only to be greeted with views like that!

Even with the thunder the trail looked like a great one for a hike

Do you guys actually sign in then you can go High Peaks Wilderness Area? That’s a lot of muds in there but way to go man. :)

Probably 35 years ago I backpacked through the Adirondacks. Somewhere around Scott's pond I believe. Brought back memories of more limber bones.😉 Thanks for sharing and have a great day. 🇨🇦👍🤘

Oh no... the hike isn't starting out so well. I've dropped lenses myself, and it's never a good feeling. It is a very beautiful hike, though!

Too bad you had to enjoy the top by yourself, but I am glad you pushed yourself to do it! The views there are sunny. So glad to see that the rain didn't stop you from making the hike. I'm impressed!
