For the ones having difficulty, when the pen is in between his middle and index (pointing) finger, you just need to practice swinging the pen back towards your thumb.

I practiced by swinging it with the help of my wrist. I then got the feel of how to do it with just using my index finger (and tiny wrist movement).

Some people (like me) try to fake feel like it. Like I pretend I've been doing the trick for years. It mentally helps for some people
