at least this video talks about there being hope after benzos. Some of them just scare the hell out of me. Thank you, for sharing your story

So very sorry this happened to you Sophie. I relate to the similarities (in my own experience). Like you I was prescribed Benzos in consequence to an adverse reaction to another prescribed medication ie iatrogenic harm. Looking back, it still bothers me that because some of the symptoms of that chemical toxicity manifest in e.g. DPDR - we are then shunted into the hands of psychiatry who dole out more harmful pills while remaining wilfully blind to their effects. It is a pathway for many into being completely trapped into the psychiatric system. I so hope things continue to get better for you and that there comes a time when this is fully behind you. Thank you for sharing this small part of what I understand will have been a massive and devastating impact on your life. Kind regards, Sarah, New Zealand

Glad you made it through, the stuff is a complete nightmare to come off. Exceedingly difficult and time consuming to get off. Keep hanging in there, I'm 10 months off and pretty much better and I was on it for 2 years straight everyday, then cold turkey, forced by evil doctor. I was insane for 6 months. Every moment was pure terror, no joke.

Welp, I'm a month and 2 days in. I'm already feeling better. 4mg 13+ years of Xanax. God Bless!!

I went cold turkey from Klonopin. I have had every symptom described on this channel. It took me three years and I can only describe it as a catastrophe. I am left with a weak heart and ringing ears and much more. Never again. It’s just not worth it.

To the young lady in the video, I’m glad to hear that you have got off Benzodiazepines, I was on them for just over two years, I got off them by using a slow taper.

I’m sorry to hear about the adverse effects you’re experiencing, I have also experienced terrible effects but due to Finasteride which seem very similar to what people experience on Benzos, I wish you and others going through this the best and hope you have a full recovery 🙏🏼

the point is not to taper is to never take a benzo
Theres people suffering years tapering

There might be a strong connection between antibiotics, and anxiety. The antibiotics kill all bacteria throughout the system- even good bacteria that regulates many functions. I know, that I took too much of an antibiotic for std. Then, a week or two later my whole system and brain were out of wack, and I had severe panic attacks. Also, my electrolytes were off, because I was only drinking water and not eating because I had a bad cold. Possibly antibiotics killing all bacteria is a link to many mental disorders.

I was only on a benzo for 5 months. Was CT’d and didn’t know what was happening. Took two years to start to heal and needed an antibiotic and was setback again. I would be healed if not for that happening.

I also had anxiety and suggestibility and tinnitus from cortisone withdrawal I got from clogged ears. I went to therpay for tinnitus and they said I should sleep better than I did and advised clonazepam. My dad panicked and went to the doctor to ask what it was and whether it was safe and she just casually gave it. As if I would have done therapy there. I used for 12 days. Halfway taper now. My symptoms are insane. Even neurologists are not taking me seriously at all. They also claim cortisone revealed underlying mania when I had no mania, I was just in withdrawal and didn't even have mania from cortisone either, it wasn't that bad. I was just not taken seriously and didn't find good therapists.

Drs. are completely ignorant of the effects and subjective experiences of benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome. This makes opiates look like a walk in the park. I do not think any Dr. or nurse or physician assistant should be allowed to prescribe in the benzodiazepine class until they have taken extensive coursework and have interned for 6 months with a psychiatrist who has been trained in benzodiazepine withdrawal management. Enough is enough - these victims of medical negligence need to be listened to and helped with education, treatment, and financial assistance if they are incapacitated or injured by these benzodiazepines.
