They've never used A standard; First two album were only in drop A, third album was mostly in drop A with moments where an 8 string tuned to drop E was used, and on this record most songs are in drop G, a few in drop A and Hate Creation in B standard :)

How do you know if they don't have talent? Have you ever seen the peak of their guitar playing and what they can play? Arpeggios. Sweeps. More. The fact that Kevin Lane, the drummer, managed to write such complex drum lines in these songs shows the amount of talent that he has, and have you seen Phil Bozeman do vocal tracking? Don't even get me started on that.

What's the little clip on the treble strings on the guitars for? Is that just to stop them from ringing whilst they're playing?

Yeah check it out. I play an AxeFX II - but the Kemper is still a cool piece of gear. It's technically just a preamp so you can use it live, not just for recording :)

yeah. sometimes when you're in the studio, you'll have a part that you can't play without getting a little buzz from the higher strings. it's hard to hear live, but on recording it's totally unwanted, so they tape the strings down to prevent it.
