How I #sculpted #Dagrin, as as #OlamideBaddo's fan, a lover of indegenous rap that I am. It is Dagrin's 11th years departure, after which Olamide Baddo came into limelight. My love for both rappers knows no bound. They both rap in indegenous #Yoruba language with tinge of English to pass strong message to the people.
Olamide took charge of the indigenous rap, followed by #nairaMarley and others. Nigeria was once dominated rappers of English, having taken after their European counterparts but Dagrin came and changed the narrative. Olamide has never disappointed after Dagrin was no more. The scupture has taken me four days to complete. It is a miniature, a relief sculpture, rendered in clay and may still be cast into fibre glass with usage of Plaster of paris as a mould. This is to show Dagrin is back in another form.
The process of the relief #sculpture work
1. I moulded my #clay in to an egg shape or oval and cut it into half to demonstrate the relief form of the head.
2. I cut a line across the form at half to indicate the #eyes level, same thing at the nose line, the jaw and forehead respectively fell into same sizes after the markings from me.
3. I cut my sculpting knife between the space on eyes and nose level and I began the fleshing of the cheeks, to other parts. what matters is getting the #proportion right and forms of the features.
Note: If you get the features right and there is no balance or accuracy, the outcome would look odd and it would affect the Outlook. So, take time to check the measurement. For instance, on the average, there are three eyes, so to speak. The one between the nose and the two main eyes. If they are in equal proportion, the eyes would maintain #balance. Apply the principle of #Art also in sculpture to have a masterpiece.
