OnePlus 8 Pro Waterproof Test

Hey Guys, today we are going to test OnePlus 8 Pro which released in April 2020

The phone came in the classic red box, it will surprise you when you take out the phone. The screen ratio and the workmanship of the phone are impeccable. OnePlus 8 Pro is available in three color options, Glacial Green, Ultramarine Blue, and Onyx Black.

OnePlus 8 Pro features four cameras at the back. Supports up to 30x zoom.

OnePlus 8 Pro comes with 6.78 inches Fluid AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 1B colors.Features 2K resolution, 513 PPI screen pixel density, 1300NIT peak brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support, 10-bit color depth, 4096 brightness adjustment, ambient color temperature sensing.

About shooting performance, it achieving an overall DXOMARK Camera score of 119 points, and pinches the number 10 spot in rankings. With a very good Photo score of 126 points, and the video score is 103 points. By and large the OnePlus 8 Pro is a solid performer.

We found the first waterproof sign here and did not turn red.

Now, remove the motherboard and we found some water drop here.

We found the second waterproof sign was turned red, and some water drop around.

Conclusion, The test result shows that this smartphone is IP68 water-resistant.

I'm pretty sure those few drops of water squeezed their way in at the very end, in the deep underwater test.
Seeing how no air bubbles were leaking at any point, air inside must've been getting compressed enough to let a little bit of water in. Even then, it didn't end up on anything that can be instantly damaged. Pretty solid protection overall.

Wow, it seems really waterproof, but you've also had it underwater for a very long time. You can look over the small drops of water that dry out after time anyway. Good test

I've had my 8 Pro since it was released, my biggest complaint is that the phone gets hot easily if it's in any kind of sunlight. My 2nd complaint is the rounded screen, you have to have a case on this phone otherwise it's almost impossible to hold the phone and have the touchscreen functions still work. 3rd complaint every glass screen protector I've tried makes the touchscreen freak out and touch is affected by the screen protector so much so it makes the phone touch applications you haven't touched, like random touch issues so I've given up on finding a glass screen protector.

Защита должна спасти от случайных моментов попадения смарта во влажную среду. Вода так или иначе найдет лазейку, тк с увеличением глубины, увеличивается давление. При его непродолжительном воздействии, совсем небольшое количество попавшей воды внутрь не повредит девайсу. Вообще, по-хорошему, для меня остается загадкой, почему до сих пор все платы не заливают лаком для изоляции, в таком случае вода, даже попав внутрь, не повредит многим элементам, а лишь только может повредить в местах соединения шлейфов.
