Helicon Headquarters || Mic Mechanic 2 Firmware Update

This episode of Helicon Headquarters demonstrates the new features of the latest firmware update for the Mic Mechanic 2!

This update adds a new mode which links the footswitch to the Delay effect ONLY!!!! If you hold the Tone button while powering on the pedal, it will boot into a new mode where the Reverb effect is unaffected by the footswitch. This means you can have Reverb constantly active while toggling Delay on and off with the footswitch!

This setting is remembered across power cycles. To return the footswitch control to both the Delay and Reverb effects again, just repeat the process of holding Tone while powering on.

Tap Tempo timeout timer removed.
If you hold the footswitch down for two seconds while the pedal is on, you can tap-in the Delay's tempo. This new tap tempo feature no longer times out so the pedal will continue to blink at the Delay's tempo until you hold the footswitch again for another two seconds.

Thank you for this. I wish there was a quick way to get it back to the factory settings. I've accidentally either clicked the button twice or have held it down while on stage and I'm stuck with a setting I do not want. Otherwise, I love this pedal and have been using it for my live acoustic gigs for over a year.

New in box, it has a squealing oscillator sound. Did I just get a bad one? I read a lot of people that have this situation, dating back to 2021. Mine was purchased in May of 2023 and the oscilator sound will not stop unless the power is off. Running off fresh batteries so it's not and bad power supply.

Is there a way to have the footswitch only turn the echo/delay knob on and off? I'd like to set the reverb at 1 setting via the knob. Same with the pitch correction. Then turn on the echo on and off via the switch as a cool vocal effect only for certain sections of a song. I always want to have the pitch correction and a little reverb on... not just when I engage the switch. Does that make sense?

I am getting a terrible buzzing sound when I use this foot pedal. I sent the first one back and I am getting the same sound from the new one as well. I’ve tried using batteries as well as the power supply and the humming is still there. The buzzing only happens when I use the foot pedal. No issue with mic plugged directly into the amp or other outputs. Please help as I don’t want my money thrown away purchasing your product that I can’t use.

Hello: I am writing here to see if some kind soul can help me, since I am quite desperate with the subject:

I have a TC Helicon mic mechanic, well, I go to their website, I download the firmware and it doesn't recognize it, it only recognizes an old update from 2014, there is no way to update it, (unless I'm doing something wrong, which I doubt) since in its day I updated it without problem, but now the echo selection only does 3 repetitions that are barely noticeable when there is music in between.
