Welcome to my first look at the Hilltop Packs Roll-top Fanny Pack.

This will serve as my primary fanny pack that I will use during the 2021 hiking season.

That other belt strap is designed to go onto a pack with a removable hip belt as a replacement hip belt with a pouch!

Hilltop and Ben are great.
But, I not digging that roll top when I’m on the go on a thru.
To me it seems like it would be a pita. Need two hands to open, two hands to close.
100x the effort in rolling, unrolling vs unzip and your in, zip, and it’s closed.

I'm using a mountainsmith vibe and tour. I wish they would make dcf instead of cordura.

The thing I hate about hip belts is that they hinder EVERY step. think about the accumulated loss of energy in a day. Now, think about the accumulated loss of energy on a thru hike. I prefer a chest pouch to a fanny back because it has 0 interference with your hip or leg movement and helps snug your pack around your rib cage, thus still taking some of the weight off your shoulders (if it's a 4 point design like the Z-packs one). Of course, a chest pouch might have its own drawbacks for some women, but for me, I prefer it to a fanny pack slapping me in the nuts when I have it in accessibility mode, in the front.

Glad I stopped by and watched your review of the Hilltop fanny Pack. I stumbled across Hilltop looking for a ditty bag, and ended up ordering a custom printed fanny pack instead. Looks like it has so many other uses than a fanny pack. I'm wondering if I will be able to wear it like a sling bag / chest bag. Either way I am stoked to get it. Thank you for the great video.

Nice review. When my fanny pack from LiteAF dies I am eyeing one of the Hilltop roll tops. Personally I like the pack attached to my backpack but like the old saying goes, fanny pack your own fanny pack...

nice video...BUT how does it work or carry in 4L mode (when its not rolled all the way ). the strap is closer to the middle or bottom so does that make it awkward, or is it stable .. video ?

$75 for the custom pack…….just get a $35 bear bag and glue or sew to a belt. Voila same thing lol.

I know it's hard to say you use your fanny pack like a purse but that's what it is. Haha!! No shame in that.
