Long term review of the #Google #Pixel Buds A-Series after 1 year. How good is the sound quality? How do their mics stand up against others, should you go for these now or wait for the Pixel Buds Pro and what issues could you expect to run into with them?

We'll also give you a walk through of all of the software features included with these buds including: Adaptive Sound, Bass EQ, and Loudness Compensation at lower volumes, multiple tap gestures, we'll talk about if the battery life is good enough for phone calls & casual listening & the downsides of not having noise cancellation with these buds.

8:47 - THANK YOU for showing a close up of how the buds sit in your ear. This is my primary concern, since almost no buds I've ever tried stay in my ears, and it's frustrating. Yours is the first video I've seen that actually shows this.

I think for certain scenarios you actually don't want noise cancellation. I ride my bicycle a lot. I have been using the plantronics earbuds for when I ride my bike, but I have a set of the series As on the way specifically because they are like my old plantronics ones. They don't have noise cancelling. I want to be able to hear in the background what is going on around me. I need to be able to hear approaching cars. It's a safety thing for me. The only time I wear earbuds is when I am on my bike.

The demonstration of the audio quality from the different microphones was very helpul.

I had the Pixel Buds 2 (well, had several Pixel Buds 2 as they kept failing to charge). I tried a few others (Galaxy Buds, Airpods) to replace them when the contact sensors sunk into the buds. But at the end of the day, I went with the A-Series because I loved the fit. Compared to the other ones around the market, they are absolutely my favorite.

I love the Pixel buds. I have the 2019 Pixel buds and they're absolutely amazing. I'm definitely waiting for Pixel bus pro though!

To me their best feature is the top for notification. Because it's tell you the time and then after that whatever notifications you have it will read them off one by one. And they do a good job of separating your regular text messages from your email. I'm glad to see that they're bringing back the volume swipe on the pro version. I love how you have all of your controls on either earbud. I wonder if they're going to be able to do that on the pro version with the ANC capabilities.

I am a big fan of these, and bought my wife a pair of her own late last year as well.

One thing that is stunning for me is the quality of the mic which far outshines the mic setup on some more expensive Sennheiser overears I own.

And I am planning on picking up the new pixel buds this year mainly for the improved multi device bluetooth functionality.

The Pixel Buds A's microphone quality seems surprisingly good. That gives me confidence about potentially purchasing the Pro version.

The buds sound great with the EQ feature turned on. I usually have the bass on +1 and I also have a 3rd party EQ with my music as well. I use the Poweramp EQ

As always, thank you for your job. Great channel!
I can not buy a device I like anymore without your professional overview and approval! 😁

I got these and I must say I really like them.. They feel very comfortable in your ears; you even forget you have them on. Connecting to my Pixel 6 was a breeze, but it might be different with other devices. The case looks great, but it feels very flimsy. Not sure it will last long. I actually like the fact there not active nose cancellation; I like to be able to hear some background nose, especially when I'm out in the street.
Thank you for this review, Josh.

I got some Pixel Buds A-Series with my Preorder of the Pixel 6 and I love them. I have to disagree with you on your assessment of the case, however. It is wonderful if all you're doing is fidgeting. But if you drop them anywhere the case will, without fail, open. Resulting in earbuds everywhere! Ah! I still do love them, and would recommend. The price is certainly right.
Great review!!

Just got these 1 day ago from Amazon for $59. Officially one of the most comfy earbuds I have tried. Sound is surprisingly good, real balanced when the Bass is not too high (I have mine set only 2-3 ticks up and it's more than sufficient. Wish it had volume control but nice to know the volume stops when they're removed. Thx for sharing!!

I bought a pair of the Google Pixel Buds A-Series when they were first released. I heard that one of the improvements Google made over the original Pixel Buds was to make the stabilizer arcs on the A-Series out of a bit softer material than was used on the original Pixel Buds, which made using the Buds-A-Series more comfortable. Google just discounted (March 2023) the Pixel Buds Pro and the Pixel Buds-A Series. I find the Pixel Buds A-Series to be the buds I use while driving because I want to hear ambient sounds (horns, motorcycles, etc.). So I bought a second set of Pixel Buds Series-A. I just received my new Pixel Buds Series-A. I compared them to my original pair of Pixel Buds A-Series. The new Series A stabilizer arcs seem a bit longer and a bit more flexible than on my early release Pixel Buds A-Series. I think they will be more comfortable and more secure in my ears. (P.S. I now own 2 original Pixel Buds, two Pixel Buds A-Series, and two Pixel Buds Pros. Different colors for different days.)

To be fair, the pixel buds-a passively block 20dBof high frequency sound -- which is more likely to cause hearing loss than low frequency sound. It also passively blocks 9dB of mids, which is the majority of human voice sound.

So they practically block out most sound in practical situatioms (like sitting in a Starbucks or something like that).

Stop saying that costing $99 is low and expectations for the earbuds should be low. This makes absolutely no sense and sounding incredibly snobbish and foolish.

I love my pixel buds a series. Fit my ears, great sound, and I haven't had any issues we with them so far. Can't wait to see how the pixel buds pro will do.
