How to play Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza

RULES:
The object of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all their cards. Shuffle the deck and deal out all the cards to the players. Players do not look at their cards but instead keep them in a face down personal draw pile in front of them. The player to the left of the dealer flips the top card of their deck, out-away from themselves to a face up central pile on the table and says the word “taco”. The next player does the same but says the word “cat”. This is followed by “goat”, then “cheese”, then “pizza”, then the words repeat. If you fail to flip the correct way, then you collect all the faceup cards to the bottom of your draw pile.

Flipping cards and saying the correct word continues until the word spoken matches the topmost faceup card that was just played. Now, all players must slap their hands on top of the faceup cards and the last player to do so takes all the faceup cards and puts them on the bottom of their draw pile. Then that player starts the process over again with “taco”.

If any player slaps incorrectly, or starts to slap but stops themselves, then they collect all the faceup cards. All players must play at a steady pace, if you break the rhythm to the game by saying the wrong word, forgetting the word, or not noticing it’s your turn, then you collect all the faceup cards.

All the players must complete the following actions immediately when a special card is revealed, then they must slap the pile. The gorilla: everyone beat their chest. The groundhog: everyone knock on the table with both hands. The narwal: everyone slaps their hands together above their head to form a horn. The last person to complete the action and slap the pile collects all the faces cards. If a player does the wrong action, they can attempt to correct it. They do not have to take the pile of cards as long as they are not last.

Once a player has used all their cards in their draw pile, they continue to say the correct word on their turn without flipping a card. The game ends when a player with no remaining cards is the first to correctly slap the faceup cards.

Taco cat: famous palindrome

Catgoat: sounds like catgut, which has been used for various things

Goat cheese: self explanatory

Cheese pizza: self explanatory

Pizza taco: when you fold a pizza in half and eat it like a taco

You can do this using an uno deck, only saying numbers from 0 to 9, and and you might want to remove action cards, but if you decide to maintain them, you can: assign a number to each card; just ignore them, and thus making matching cards slightly more rare

I saw this being played on Vat19's YouTube channel a few years back; the game was pretty intense and one of the players compared it to a Stroop Effect test aka those tests where a word says the name of a color but the font is a different color.

To everyone saying that you can play this game using a regular pack of playing cards or UNO cards....

You might be right in regards to rules.... But you're very wrong in regards to FUN!

The actual word's (which are ridiculous) and repetitive sequence of the words you say as well as the actions (especially the silly Nahwal one hehe) is what makes the game. If you have played the game you know.

My wife and i cracked up laughing so much when we played. Boosted our mood and connected us. Fun to play with kids too. I love this game. So simple but so fun. Kinda felt like being a kid again playing it.

You can play this with the standard playing card, but instead just say the number 2, 3, 4, and so on until jack, queen, king, then ace, and back to 2. Use to play this as a kid

We played similar games to this with regular playing cards.
In fact, we were just making up new rules from games we all knew, after a while, the original rules are nowhere to be seen and we got infinitely close to the rules of this game.
Of course the rules similar to this game was not the end of it since there is so much more you could do with a set of playing cards.
