Each and every one of us can do our part to keep communities safe by keeping our eyes and ears open. Whether you’re at a sporting event, concert, or hanging out at your local fair, remain alert to your surroundings. When something just doesn’t feel right, say something. Report suspicious behavior to your local authorities.
“If You See Something, Say Something™” is a national campaign that raises public awareness of the indicators of terrorism and terrorism-related crime, as well as the importance of reporting suspicious activity to state and local law enforcement. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security reminds the public to report suspicious activity to local law enforcement agencies. If there is an emergency, call 9-1-1.
When reporting information to your local authorities, describe specifically what you observed, including:
Who or what you saw
When you saw it
Where it occurred
Why it’s suspicious
