I am so grateful to see Lida's story in a TEDx platform. I have seen her perform In Search of Air three times, and each time have been moved to tears and awe. Her story is unique and universal. It invites everyone to expand their understanding of learning variation and/or disabilities, the social and emotional implications (including the silent suffering of fear and shame so many children/teens/adults experience), while demonstrating the resiliency of the human spirit. Thank you, Lida, for your courage, intellect, and fierce, unflinching performance.

This story is also mine. Human beings are not like gingerbread cookies. Because we are all different . We grow, we are not things to be put together. For that only results in a Frankenstein monster. Human beings make and choose a systems to create. We grow and bloom. Teachers need to think holographically and not linearly . For that is how the human mind works. My story has this same plot. I had to be my own School. What's the help of my parents I was able to learn, analyze and synthesize my knowledge to the point where is becomes understanding. Watching her and seeing her explain her journey is of great comfort. It comfort to know there others.

she seem very emotional. strong emotions can make you spaced out. geography is emotionally boring. it create no emotional value. anyway. most ancient stuff in the world is quite scary and would create very unpleasant violent negative emotions in a emotionally sensitive person that get so much emotional interference he or she can't spell or read right.

I agree with message, can't stand the hippy expression of dance. My experience is similar but it was the hippy type that were the problem. Lida good on you however your learning styles just annoying to me. wouldn't for me. However we use the same method U use to get around writing and I got respect for that!
