“Norah-June” played by Me on the Violin, recorded on a blank wax cylinder

Here’s yet another home recording of mine, this time it is an original composition entitled “Norah-June” played by me on the violin (piano accompaniment was played by me pre recorded).

I will say, it’s not easy to record violin bending down to get all of your sound into the horn…

Recorded using my 1909 Edison Standard Model B and played back using my 1897 Columbia Type B “Eagle” Graphophone.

This tune was written for my very special significant other, Norah Krantz.

Enjoy

Just over from the comment section under the Techmoan video. Exceptional fidelity for such mechanical means!

Pretty neat. Very interesting to contrast the modern recording to the one from the wax cylinder.

Columbia Q? How did you get a recorder to fit on that?
