Thank you for your well-structured, informative lessons. You also share a bit of yourself, which is awesome, and leaves me feeling like I should be a kinder person because how we speak to people either spreads kindness and sincerity, or cold, nastiness. Peace

I love that Sadowski Ritchie. It is beautiful with a tone that matches. I could never thank you enough for your teachings. I appreciate you and I hope you are well. All the best.

Loving this 18-licks series. The 2nd characteristic mentioned about Grant's playing hits close to home for me. My last "guitar teacher" told me once in a solo he asked me to play, "you are too diatonic". My brain told me to say "and just what is wrong with that?" But I did something better: I quit him.

Encapsulating and arpeggios and you have yourself a jazz solo breakfast cereal. Or add nuts and you've got groinola. I find over many years how learning lines and chord melodies teaches you about yourself. Whether you hurry, or have a certain shade of masochism that keeps you in a rut, hitting that same chord weakly or distorted because you never stopped to consider the hand wrist problem or guitar angle you have. When to slow down and play two measures over a hundred times instead of passing through those troubled waters without stopping. Paying attention to muscle fatigue so you don't wind up with more problems. Playing for 30 minutes and taking a 10 minute break. I caught Grant Green at Keystone Korner. The owner, Todd Barken, had assembled a major Airto style percussion rack and played behind Grants group. A couple times I saw Grant's hand creep to his face and slowly slide down, stretching his features. That's a good cue to stop what you're doing and reassess....

What guitar is that? The grain on the top is beautiful.
