How To Copy Americans To Sound NATURAL In English

This is an example of the type of analysis we do in our Mission: English program.

Mission: English is a program consisting of small group pronunciation classes. We meet twice a day, Monday through Friday, at either 9:30AM New York, 13:30 New York, or 20:00 New York and do pronunciation exercises together.

One of those exercises: listening to native speakers in American English, and identifying what they are doing with linking, pitch, vowels, and other structures of their speech. Then, we can try to copy it!

Let me ask you: when you analyze the sentence "you don't know in Los Angeles and see, can you" as a thought group, around minute 17, I hear she saying "and seek can you" (seek instead of see). Do you also notice this extra "k"? You don't say it when you imitate her, but it's clearly there. Thoughts? 🤔
