An action-adventure, coming-of-age film, set in the Māori - Colonial wars of the 1860s. On-the-run, a half-caste, traumatised boy-soldier, Haki, 15, is captured by Māori resistance forces preparing a last desperate stand against the might of the British Imperial Army. Held as a sacrifice, Haki's life is forfeit until he befriends and is saved by Kōpū, a teenage girl who is a reluctant medium for a war god.

In Aotearoa cinemas June 27.

Appreciate that the subtitles are aesthetically place instead of just down at the bottom. It also frames the scenes really well. Excited to watch this. You don't often see films depicting Māori culture and perspectives.

The truth must be told!! It's so refreshing to see more and more native cultures sharing their truth. Their side of the story. We need it to be told and taught and passed down. And THEY deserve to be heard.

These films provide a great opportunity to understand the history and cultural heritage of the Māori people.

There needs to be an Oscar category for the best trailer! This would win! Take my money, I'm coming to see it!

First 'The Convert' and now this! Two films about colonial in Aotearoa in one year! Colour me shocked, in a good way.

I saw Ka Whawhai Tonu - Struggle Without End last night in Adelaide (on a Monday) on limited release. Just me & my partner saw it. This truth needs to be shown to a broad audience. I look forward to an Australian film about The Frontier Wars as told from a First Nations perspective being told. It is essential that indigenous people the world over are heard & understood with open hearted compassion. Empires rise and fall but without learning their stain festers. Thank you.

This looks fantastic. Ever since Temuera Morrison helped introduce me to the Maori in the absolutely timeless "Once Were Warriors" I will watch him and his crew in anything that helps teach me about his astonishing people.

I remember as a kid being terrified of geckos because of all the korero I had heard about them, but I also remembered my nanny who knew the bible word for word in te reo and english, she held my hand and walked me through an area where geckos were numerous "I'd even have nightmares about this area" I remember her saying a karakia under her breath and being in awe watching them completely scatter from us, that was a beautiful moment. When she passed her little whare was burned down by her neighbours, what compelled them to do that I'll never know

Ka Whawhai Tonu: The Struggle Continues fragmanını izledim ve etkileyici derinliğiyle beni büyüledi. Kesinlikle izlenmeyi hak ediyor.

Support from Papua New Guinea, the story of European colonisation is the same right across the Pacific. They came in the pretext of church and took our land and destroyed our cultures and societies. We must never forget.
