Magnetic Effects Midphoria

Today, we’re parking it with the Midphoria from Magnetic Effects. The Midphoria puts cocked wah tones at your fingertips without having to fuss around with a whole wah pedal and the space it occupies. Because the wah effect is in a traditional pedal enclosure, you can set the Sweep control to the exact sweet spot you need and then recall it with the press of a switch. For those of you that need just a touch of wah filtering, a handy clean blend knob lets you control the ratio of dry and wet signals for a gentle sprinkling of parked wah or full-on Mark Knopfler tones. Two frequency ranges are accessible via the Range toggle, from low and throaty for the rhythm players to trebly and piercing for some extra solo flavor. You can also use the Midphoria as a harmonically-rich boost, with the Volume knob back and the clean offering a huge boost that ranges well beyond unity gain. The internals of the Midphoria offer up an audiophile-grade Burr-Brown op-amp that keeps the action sounding its best with low noise and crystalline clarity. This clarity helps the Midphoria add an edge to anything you can place before or after it, seamlessly blending in with the rest of your rig. You can power the Midphoria with up to 18 volts for extra headroom at any point in your signal chain, and each Midphoria is hand-built, one by one in the UK.
