Smoke billows from Dartford marshes in Kent after wildfires broke out caused by  extreme temperatures. Europe has been suffering a heatwave for the past two days, with temperatures reaching 40C in the UK – the highest ever recorded

Consistent dry weather. It's not just about todays high temperature it's about grass etc as dry as straw. Earth that's dry.

Those marsh fires are exactly what we've had burning here in the California Bay Area for the past fortnight. The stench is unbearable when the winds change.

Broken glass from fly tipping seems to have started the fire with the extreme heat on the dry grass

There are lots of 5g towers along motorways these days who knows how much heat or energy they put out
