Tanzanians with albinism targeted for witchcraft | UNICEF

Kulwa, 21, is one of many Tanzanians with albinism who was attacked for her body parts.

At least 74 people with albinism, including children, have been murdered in the country since 2000, with many more having limbs hacked off as a result of attacks. Witch doctors and others have profited from trading their body parts, which are believed to harness magical powers.

After surviving the attack, Kulwa joined a safe house, run by the organisation Under The Same Sun, where she learned vocational skills and started her own knitting business.

So sad that people can do this to a person created by God. It is so sad that she can't be with her family. I pray that she will be blessed with a safe and better future. Stop the evil things in your country Tanzanians. Put these bad people behind bars and lock them away for life. It reminds of the Rhino killings for the horns. Education !

Scary and horrific to think that the mental capacity of some people is reduced to such abject vacancy due to superstition.  Vigilance against ALL superstition is warranted.  To affirm any type of superstition just validates that status quo.
