{Lyrics}
Cradle me where southern skies can watch me with a million eyes,
Oh sing me to sleep,
Lullaby of the leaves
Cover me with heaven’s blue and let me dream a dream or two,
Oh sing me to sleep,
Lullaby of the leaves.
I’m breezing along, along with the breeze,
I’m hearing a song, a song thru the trees,
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh.
That pine melody caressing the shore familiar to me, I’ve heard it
before ooh ooh ooh ooh.
That’s southland, don’t I feel it in my soul,
And don’t I know I’ve reached my goal,
Oh sing me to sleep,
Lullaby of the Leaves.
(Intermisson)

I love this song and this arrangement. I get a kick out of the cymbal taps, so common in 30s recordings. If you like this song, I suggest listening to recordings by Keeley Smith, Ella Fitzgerald, and especially Connie Evingson, who is a real treasure.

This reminds of the fact there are some people who made wonderful things, yet I’ll never meet them. 😕

Cradle me, where southern skies, can watch me with a million eyes...
Sing me to sleep, lullaby of the leaves...

Cover me with heavens blue, and let me dream or two...
Sing me to sleep, lullaby of the leaves...

Im breezing along, along with the breeze...
I'm hearing a song, a song in the trees...

A pine melody creasing the shore...
_familiar to me I heard it before_

That's southland!

Don't I feel it in my soul?
Don't I know I reached my goal?

Sing me to sleep...
Lullaby of the leaves...

The dog looks like a painting and real at the same time. If its painted it looks very realistic. If the dog was real and alive back then im sad that its dead but death is just a part of nature's rules. It also reminds me of that one nice stray dog i met years ago i wonder how is that stray dog doing rn

Why is no one talking about 1:24, it is a good part of the song.

Sudden Jump To Awareness is actually 1:45 and 1:18, merged together

Bro I literally just rediscovered this, I’d completely *forgotten* about it, it really *brings back memories* from a couple of years ago…
