Bakom Dotter finns den värmländska sångerskan och låtskrivaren Johanna Maria Jansson. Namnet anspelar på Moder Jord och Johannas förkärlek till djur, natur och världen vi lever i.

Sedan debuten 2014 har hennes musik haft en tematisk koppling till livsåskådning och personliga värderingar. Det stora genombrottet kom med ”Bulletproof”, som blev tvåa i Melodifestivalen 2020. Låten tog sedan en förstaplats på Svensktoppen och plats 49 på Spotifys världshitslista.

Melodifestivalåret därpå kom hon fyra med ”Little Tot”.

Dotter har under åren spelats flitigt på svensk radio och samarbetat med namnkunniga hitmakare som Michael Angelo (Sam Smith, Lady Leshurr), David Sneddon (Lana Del Rey) och Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran och Beyonces ”Perfect”).

På meritlistan som låtskrivare har hon bland annat ”A Million Years” med Mariette och ”Victorious” med Lina Hedlund. Hennes samarbete med Måns Zelmerlöw i ”Walk With Me”, som de framförde i en mellanakt i Andra chansen 2019, ledde till att hon uppträdde på Zelmerlöws turné. Hon har också turnerat tillsammans med Miss Li.
