Machados timing is excellent! Given his weight is only 145lbs ish... his turns are timed perfectly and placed in all the right spots. That is what decades of dedication and discipline produce. Such a treat to watch.

I am not, nor will I ever be, as good as Rob. But I can surf just like this and its a BLAST. Clean and perfect headhigh surf can be more fun than high risk for high reward dangerous which I've done plenty too... And is exactly when and where Rob leaves me WAY behind. Don't forget, only one out of 10, 000 become professionals. And only one out of a hundred professionals get to Rob's level.
I am a top tier amateur. There's an infinite gap between great amateurs and average PROFESSIONALS.
Long live Rob.... who's an all time great.

I like how on the mid-length he sometimes top turns out in front of the pocket with a carving, kind of combination top turn/cutback which angles down all the way to the bottom of the wave, like the last wave 2.36. Normally I see people either top turn in the pocket or get some speed and then roundhouse cutback to the foam. I'm gonna try this. Anyone else do this?

Rob's popup is like magic. He must have longer arms than I do, because it's like his lower body is on a hinge, and it just swings into place.
