Jack Ma’s 5 top tips for entrepreneurs

Get ready to make sacrifices if you want to be an entrepreneur, Alibaba founder Jack Ma said at the grand final of the Jumpstarter 2017 start-up competition in Hong Kong.

Ma had plenty of advice for budding entrepreneurs during a fireside chat with Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam, drawing from experience gained from his 18-year journey turning Alibaba into one of the biggest technology companies in the world. Here are five of his tips.

Fikirkan masalah apa yang boleh kita selesaikan dan bagaimana kita menyelesaikannya berbeza dari yang lain dan mengapa kita boleh melakukan yang lebih baik daripada yang lain.



2. Cari orang yang mempercayai visi, misi dan impian yang sama dengan kita. Latih pasukan kita dan pasukan kita juga akan melatih kita. Orang yang terbaik sebenarnya adalah orang yang bekerjasama dengan kita.



3. Tanya apa yang dapat kita berikan bukan apa yang kita akan dapat. Jika kita fikir kita akan menang dalam 3 tahun, bersiaplah untuk 5 tahun. Apabila kita tahu apa yang kita akan korbankan, maka kita akan dapat jua.



4. Jangan ikutkan trend dengan yang dianggap 'hot' pada masa ini. Apabila semua orang mengatakan ya, tidak ada peluang untuk kita. Sebaliknya, tanyakan pada diri kita sendiri, mengapa kita boleh melakukan yang lebih baik, dan berbeza; dan kenapa kita mampu bertahan lebih lama bila orang lain tidak.



5. Jangan pernah menunggu semuanya siap untuk kita untuk kita memulakan. Apabila semuanya sudah siap, tidak ada peluang untuk kita lagi.
