This is exactly why players look at leaks. The Genshin devs are terrible with communication and never throw us a bone. HSR drip markets two patches ahead, while Genshin is so insecure that they will lose 2% of potential sales because they show a character’s splash-art before they release.

IMHO, I think it's marketing and not letting players plan ahead. For example in ZZZ a lot of people wouldn't have pulled for Yanagi if they knew that Miyabi was going to appear in the next version, they announced Miyabi a couple of days after Yanagi was released. I got lucky and got both, but there's an scenario where I would have lost Miyabi because of that and If I had money I might ended buying polychromes. I also think they might be controlled leaks, because that's free marketing, it generates a lot of noise in the content-creator community.
Btw, tried lootbar recently, it's legit, in case anyone wonders as I did.

I think I'll be skipping these, but I'm always curious and excited to see new character designs in mechanics, even if I don't plan on pulling for them in the future. It's a bit sad that there's no drip marketing yet. It would kind of fill the gap until new years since now we have no ingame event, no battle pass and such, just an empty wait until 5.3 comes out. Showing us Kimitsuki Ayano and Iansan marketing now would give at least something to talk about and occupy the genshin comunnity so the last two days of 5.2 don't feel kinda boring😪

You don't know this because you aren't official, but all the official Hoyoverse affiliated content creators were asked by Hoyoverse to ask their communities what they thought of the delay of the drip marketing. At least, in Italy all official content creators asked this on their YouTube pages, so I guess it's not a coincidence
