In this video, I discuss the three main stages of cell signaling: reception, transduction and response. I explain some different types of receptors, ligands, proteins, and other molecules that are involved in signal transduction, which is how a cell takes a message from the outside of the cell and brings it inside in order to produce a cellular response.

hi, I have a question, could you please help me with it a bit?
is signal transduction kind of like the opposite of enzymatic reaction, where the substrate binds to an enzyme, substrate changes shape
whereas in transduction, the ligand binds to receptor, receptor changes shape, activating another ligand to bind to another receptor and activates secondary messenger?
Please correct me if I'm wrong since I just started on this topic watching your videos, also thanks for uploading those, it really help me in studying during holidays, especially since the ap video on college board is kinda bad for this unit. Thanks

Is signal transduction and transduction the same thing? I am a little confused.
And is signal transduction pathways just a kind of transduction?
