Having a gun would be great, but you should take as many training classes as you can.

If you are in the US, you need to know, the gun laws are different in each state, so it is very difficult to keep track of them. You might need to get a license for each state, but some states dont offer licenses, so you may have to completely avoid some states.

Even if you have a license for the state, there is a possibility that the gun, the magazine, or the ammo you have is illegal in that state.

The laws make very little sense and are far from "common sense."
