What makes it worse is Valerica says Serana was "offered" to Molag Bal on his summoning day, meaning that Harkon and Valerica gave their daughter to Bal to be assaulted in exchange for vampirism and power. It made me hate her parents even more.

If Serana turned into a vampire when she was a child, she must look like a child. Like Babette from the Dark Brotherhood. Vampires cannot grow up because they are dead.
So, when Serana call herself as a "little girl", she means her feelings, not literally a little girl.

Well this might be hard to explain so I'll put it bluntly, she was but it was at the current age she looks like right now, Vampires don't age after being turned from what I gather.

And so began Alex’s ascent. He journeyed through the planes of Oblivion, battling daedra, solving riddles, and stealing fragments of forbidden knowledge. Alongside him walked Serana, a vampire lord with her own vendetta against Molag Bal. Together, they forged an unlikely alliance—a bond fueled by shared pain and unyielding determination.

Their final confrontation took place in the heart of Coldharbour—a twisted citadel of black spires and writhing souls. Molag Bal awaited them, his mace dripping with the blood of countless victims. The air crackled with malevolence.

Alex raised his staff, channeling the energies of Nirn and Oblivion. Serana’s eyes glowed crimson as she unleashed her vampiric powers. They attacked as one, striking at the Prince’s defenses. But Molag Bal was no ordinary foe. His strength was boundless, his cruelty unmatched.

The battle raged—a tempest of fire, ice, and shadow. Alex’s spells clashed with Molag Bal’s dominion over darkness. Serana fought with fangs and claws, her vampiric rage unyielding. But the Prince was relentless. He shattered their defenses, broke their resolve.

In the end, it was Alex who fell—the weight of centuries crashing upon him. Molag Bal stood triumphant, his laughter echoing through the void. “You are nothing, mortal, ” he sneered. “Your defiance was amusing, but futile.”

And so, Molag Bal returned to Tamriel—not as a distant threat, but as a corporeal force. His dominion spread like a plague. Empires crumbled, gods wept, and the world bowed before the Prince of Domination.

As for Alex and Serana, their names were forgotten. Their defiance had cost them everything—their families, their love, and their very souls. They became mere whispers in the annals of history—a cautionary tale for those who dared challenge the Daedric Princes.

And so, the world plunged into darkness—a realm where Molag Bal reigned supreme, and hope was but a distant memory.

id wager she was a teenager to young adult when she was turned...this is due to how vampires work as they are ageless if she were a child when it happened shed still be a child...this was likely either i continuity slip up in the dialog or she meant it in the figurity context....but the response of the dragonborn leads me to believe the former.

at least i hope to god it was a continuity fuck up...id honestly hate to think the developers thought it a good idea to imply such a traumatic thing for a child.

No, she couldn't have been a kid when that happened because she would have stayed a child since vampires cease to age, like the vampire girl from the dark brotherhood, she was turned as a child and so she stayed that way for centuries. Serena looks like a young woman in her 20s so she must have been already an adult when molag bal did what he did to her.
