I just came back from Varadero!! most resturants are closed unfortunatly, those ones are opening only charge in Pesos. Black market rate for Peso is 1:40 compare to Canadian dollar. Things are certainly more expensive than before. 1CUC icecream is now costing 100 CUP. A 10 CUC lobster is now about 900 CUP. The price is insane, I brought lots of canned food and actually sold to local Cubans so I didn't bother with exchange. I ate at an inclusive resort everyday which is not bad. Many local cubans are in varadero now, espcially in 3-4 stars hotels

Great job ARod We had a similar experience at a Paladar in Holguin. And I remember all the stairs. Dinner looked delicious. I hope this Covid thing gets better, we want to come the end of March/22. Cheers!

$180 per 4 persons? It’s a lot.
In Chicago you can have good dinner for 20 per person. Even places like Red Lobster cost you less than $45 per person and you have to take home some leftovers because it is to much to eat at once.

This is very informative thankyou. To me this looks like a fun time with family :) I don’t have the extra money to go out to eat at restaurants to often like I did growing up as a kid. In Canada our housing market is bad right now so we sometimes pay 50%- 70% of our income per month on rent…

Great video! That pricing is off though in USD more like $55 for the whole meal. Not $180 if you do your money exchange with the people and not at the airport.
