One of the biggest differences I noticed in the Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory is at the end (little spoiler for those who have not seen it) Willy Wonka said he can bring his family but in the remake, he said he couldn’t

Dahl hated Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory so much, he disowned the bitter confection. Even though he was credited as the screenwriter, his script was heavily rewritten by an uncredited Dave Seltzer. Felicity Dahl, the author's widow, had directing and cast and script approval, and was an executive producer on the new version, which reverts to the original title of the booke. Whilst most of the dialogue is taken verbatim from Dahl's work, I did not like the modernised updates such as Mike Teavee obsessed with violent video games and bits of slang like 'Truckin'. However, I like Willy Wonka's backstory, which emphasises the written work's theme of family being important. I also like that when Grandpa George begins to curse, Mister Bucket covers Charlie's ears and the audio is muted.
