Tην έντονη ανησυχία τους για την κατάσταση που επικρατεί στην Ανατολική Μεσόγειο, εκφράζουν τις τελευταίες ημέρες, σχολιαστές και αναλυτές σε όλο τον κόσμο, επισημαίνοντας την παρουσία ισχυρών ναυτικών δυνάμεων, των ΗΠΑ και της Ρωσίας και την ταυτόχρονη αύξηση της έντασης Ισραήλ και Χεζμπολάχ, για την οποία και πιθανολογείται, ότι μπορεί να εξελιχτεί σε μια στρατιωτική σύγκρουση χερσαίων δυνάμεων, εντός του Λιβάνου.
Αυτές οι ανησυχίες των ξένων σχολιαστών, αυξήθηκαν μάλιστα, όταν η Αμερικανική πλευρά ενημέρωσε ότι και τα τρία πλοία της ναυτικής δύναμης κρούσης του αεροπλανοφόρου Dwight D. Eisenhower, δηλαδή το αεροπλανοφόρο, το αντιτορπιλικό USS Gravely και το καταδρομικό USS Philippine Sea, έδεσαν στη Σούδα της Κρήτης, όπου θα παραμείνουν μέχρι και σήμερα, ενώ την ίδια στιγμή τα ρωσικά πλοία, το καταδρομικό "Varyag" και η φρεγάτα "Marshal Shaposhnikov", που προηγουμένως είχαν επισκεφτεί την Αλεξάνδρεια στην Αίγυπτο και την Ανατολική Λιβύη, τράνταξαν τη Μεσόγειο με βολές των πανίσχυρων πυροβόλων όπλων που διαθέτουν, καθώς πραγματοποίησαν άσκηση, η οποία φυσικά ήθελε να στείλει και ένα ηχηρό μήνυμα, πως είναι εδώ, παρών στην Ανατολική Μεσόγειο.

In recent days, commentators and analysts around the world have expressed their intense concern about the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean, pointing out the presence of strong US and Russian naval forces and the simultaneous increase in tension between Israel and Hezbollah, for the which is likely to develop into a military conflict of ground forces inside Lebanon.
These concerns of foreign commentators even increased when the US side informed that all three ships of the naval strike force of the aircraft carrier Dwight D. Eisenhower, namely the aircraft carrier, the destroyer USS Gravely and the cruiser USS Philippine Sea, docked in Souda of Crete, where they will remain until today, while at the same time the Russian ships, the cruiser "Varyag" and the frigate "Marshal Shaposhnikov", which had previously visited Alexandria in Egypt and Eastern Libya, shook the Mediterranean with shots of the powerful guns that they have, as they carried out an exercise, which of course wanted to send a strong message, that they are here, present in the Eastern Mediterranean.
So really, the whole situation "smells like gunpowder", as powerful US and Russian navy units have gathered in the Eastern Mediterranean, with international geopolitical analysts wondering if Russia will get involved in an Israel-Hezbollah conflict, taking a stand in favor of Lebanon.
