Thank you for this amazing song Mr. Raye. We were privileged to have our own angel in our life as you did. Our Daughter Jennifer was born with a rare genetic condition that caused her to be severely disabled. We were blessed to have Jennifer in our lives for 26 years. We lost Her in 2007. Your song only came to my attention yesterday. You have distilled in words the 26 years of love and pain we experienced. I too have often thought that the reunion in the next life will be a joyous one. I know Jennifer will be there with me in a perfected state. I also know she will be by my side pleading for me. We devoted everything we had by way of time and talents to making Jennifer' as comfortable as we could. There were still many terrible days but we gave 110% up until the day she left us. Jennifer's life was a gift from God and I am so humbled to have been able to be Her Father and share in Her mission here. God bless your family and all of the others out there who have experienced the love of one of God's special angles in their lives.

When I drop my kids off at school in the mornings there's a bus blocking the street to pick up a boy who is in a wheel chair and can't hold his own head up. His father pops a wheelie while he's taking him to the bus and kisses his head every morning. That is a special kind of love. Seeing that for the first time made me start being more affectionate to my own kids.

Our daughter Kalee is 10, She has over 10 diagnosis but most common would be cerebral palsey, severe mental retardation and epilepsy. She cannot walk and she cannot talk, but she tells us what she wants by her cries or hand gestures. She is very unique, and complicated. We have days that are so hard and we question ourselves CAN WE CONTINUE TO DO THIS? What a horrible to think! But when she smiles at us IT IS ALL WORTH IT, WE WILL NEVER GIVE UP. SHE NEEDS US AS MUCH AS WE NEED HER.

I have a special needs 13-1/3 yr old son. He is the joy of my world & life! Though I struggle to care for him alone sense his father passed away, I don't take one moment for granted! My son shows me each day that nothing else matters in life but love! His smiles give me the stregnth I need to carry on each day for the both of us. She was ill when I went to Collinfest in 6/08 and no cure was known. Collin is such a gracious, funny, wonderful person who no matter how his heart might be breaking for his granddaughter who is now in heaven, put on such a show that week at the Friday night finale of the week long fun a bunch of women from all over came to see him. That was the best present my husband has given me since our 2 sons were born. I am so fortunate and still love Collin Raye!

I am truly sorry for your family's loss. I can't imagine losing something so precious. I have a daughter and she is the greatest thing in my life. Anyone who has had the joy of a child in their life can understand how special it really is and that this time is very short that we share with them. Before you know it their all grown up. What a wonderful tribute to such a beautiful little cried through the entire the video of this precious child and all the things she endured makes me feel so how unimportant the illnesses I have had to deal with over the years....compared to this little girl. This is my new favorite song! I am mom to Stella who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Told she would live weeks or months, she is now five and attending kindergarten . . . yes, she has a ventilator, trach, suction, cough assist, feeding tube and etc. but she's amazing and we are so blessed! We could learn so much from these special angels on earth! Thank you for your amazing song!!

I have a dear friend who's son Chris passed away about 8 Months ago from complications of Battens Disease. He was 36 (I think) and one of the oldest survivors of this disease. Although Chris could know longer communicate through words, his smile could light up a whole room. My prayers go to you and your son, and Battens awareness. So few have ever even heard of this disease, much less understand how special that these children really are on the inside. GOD BLESS!
