This is how I earn MGM Gold status without ever stepping foot in an MGM hotel or a casino. MGM has a special partnership with Hyatt. If you have Hyatt status, you can match your status over to MGM Rewards status. Hyatt Explorist or Globalist matches to gold. MGM Gold gets you complimentary self-parking or valet parking, which can be $18 or more a night.

You'll also get resort fees waived, which can save you a lot of money. If you don't have Hyatt status at all, you can earn Hyatt Discoverist status. Simply by having the Hyatt credit card Hyatt Discoverist matches over to Pearl, that at least gets you free self-parking, which still has some value to it.
