Your trucks are definitely getting better fuel mileage than what we’re getting over here in Canada. Over here, I know that we go by US gallons compared to imperial gallons, but that being said, my 2020 Peterbilt at best running through the Rocky Mountains running at about 35 tons, the best I can get out of it is anywhere between 4.3 to 5.2 miles per gallon.

Watch darkside development’s video on tuning boxes before buying one of these and make up your own mind. Personally, a quality remap is the only way to go.

For us, Europeans that use liters and kilometers, 6.5 miles / gallon is about 43.46 liters / 100 km.

I'm in a company truck, just transferred into a new 2023/24 Freightliner Cascadia for Conestoga Glass. (Was just straight flatbed before, no more tarping with the conestoga/rolltop) Already had it in the shop once on my first load, hadn't even put 600 miles on it at the time, and soon as I hit the southbound hill in Wheeler Ridge, CA I had steam shooting out the hood. Turns out I had a bad 4 way valve going into the heater core and a pin hole in a pre-formed line. Aside from that haven't had any other issues, so far. Fuel economy is already worsr than my previous Cascadia, only averaging 5.5 MPG so far, though I do run heave in the mountains a lot. (76-80k LBs)

Hoping as it breaks in some more it'll go up a bit. The turbo sure sounds weird though compared to my previous 2019 Cascadia. Odd whistling or chirping noise whenever I'm accelerating or climbing a grade. Not sure if Detroit changed it, or what. May have to ask the techs at our yard or something. Kinda annoying the adjusting to a new vehicle these day means troubleshooting all thr little quality control issues..

Probably changes the injection timing and thus also the NOx emisions...

Almost all of our trailers are Lawrence david 4.5m pillar less XL rated curtain siders, we're now getting SDC trailers with the same spec apart from them being 4.65, I don't find the straps loosening as you drive, but I do find if you open up half the curtain and the close it again, the other half will be slack, but they do make life a lot easier, especially with multi-drop work

Great info . We're planing to add a SCANIA R500 to pair with our VOLVO FH16 460 and the mechanics we're pretty excited at the workshop (the drivers too) . Greetings from Greece mate .

There's no point in disrespecting the technology which gives us electro-propulsion, it will of necessity find it's way into HGVs. Out of the 40L/100km energy consumption, 30 litres is wasted as heat.

Most common problem is that injectors needs to be serviced especially when the truck have long mileage. After long time injectors worn out and fuel economy is going down also.

A guy with a Greek name with an Irish accent, driving a Swedish truck on English roads: doesn’t come more cosmopolitan than that. Seriously though entertaining video!
