In this talk, I begin by motivating the notion of (\infty, 1)-categories using the fundamental \infty-groupoid. Then, I carry out the plan, using simplicial sets and horn extension properties to define \infty-categories. Afterwards, I talk about homotopies in \infty-categories and give an incredibly brief overview of a couple of topics which could come after seeing some \infty-categories (higher algebra and Goodwillie calculus).
