Strange sense of deja vu watching this . . . .

The i3 doesn't use your phone connection to search the Internet. It has its own sim.

What's with What Car's obsession with lumber support? almost no car has this as standard! Full electric i3 range 120 odd miles range extender 200 miles that is a huge difference contrary to what she says!

hmm range extender only 100 miles extra...yes but you can bring small petrol emergency tanks with you, I guess you can drive for 1000 miles if you want. That extender version would certainly be my choice.

The rear seat footage was shot on Groundhog Day.

I just bought a used 2017 looking forward to driving it. Sad the US does not have as many charging stations as Europe.

We've had one for 8 months now and I love it! I think Rebecca should have had the car a little longer to get a better feel for the ins and outs.
A shame they didn't discuss leasing costs as it puts it not far above a Nissan Leaf in terms of monthly cost. 8 months in, 5000 miles covered and we haven't bought petrol/diesel since!
If you're at all tempted - go and test drive one - they're fricking go karts! :)

I had the opportunity of using one of these for a couple of days and I must say I was impressed from the get go. I drove 68 miles over 2 days to and from work and found it a dream to drive. I had a laugh when, at the traffic lights, about 4 cars of various huge sizes all went in the over taking lane and when the light changed to green I just 'went' thinking where did everyone go! It goes so fast if you are not careful LOL. I definitely a convert. I love my 1 serious so much that in a couple of years I will review the i3 again. ;-)

It's a huge advantage to have no gears to change and no engine running in traffic.

I am really surprised that you complain about how small the trunk (boot) space is but failed to show how large it becomes when the rear seats are folded down completely flat. You don't seem too impressed with the added range of the REX or petrol motor generator. It is not a hybrid, but a range extended EV. The range with the REX becomes unlimited, only that one needs to stop at a petrol station every 75 minutes to refill the 2 gal. tank. The only other car in the same category that can do this is the Chevy Volt. It is not a pure serial hybrid. But thank you for the nice review.

As _new_ cars, the i3 was not a very good deal when comparing features to other EVs in the same price range. But on the _used_ car market they are actually a great deal. If possible try to go for the 94 or 120 Ah version rather than the older 60 Ah which has quite a bit less range. In my neck of the woods (the US), the 60 Ah version can be found (used) for around $15000-$16000 whereas the 94 Ah version is about $3000 - $4000 more. 120 Ah ones are harder to find, but if you can they usually are asking somewhere in the neighborhood of $23000 - $25000.

Omds omds man! Her voice when she was trying to connect the phone to the car, was so soothing and beautiful! I wish I knew someone that spoke like that damn

BMW didn't plan to make the seats comfortable for a long journey. They knew the range is so small you won't drive long enough to feel uncomfortable!

Don't get the Ford Fiesta comparison. Although the outside measures might come close. The i3 is more or at least feels more roomy! Also the i3 is way more fun to drive in my opinion. They just introduced an updated i3 with now 120ah battery pack.

it's 90 miles electric range when it's colder in the uk and the petrol is 70miles range (from an owner) We love our i3. Oh and you can get a mountain bike in the back with the front wheel off (just measure your bike).

You can’t charge it overnight on a 3 pin plug socket - it takes 19 hours to charge from empty to full unless you get the proper home charger installed..

"Not much difference in range between electric-only and range extender version". It bloody doubles the range!
